A new administration and reception building that connects the old with the new.
Schumacher AG in Schmitten wanted to extend their headquarters by building a new administration and reception facility to reflect a shift in their business from B2B to B2C. The new building was to be located between the existing administration hall and the actual manufacturing complex.
zo2’s design ensures the new reception area is easy to find and welcoming for visitors without making a grand statement. The new facility is integrated within the complex of existing buildings of differing ages and styles by its simple form, proportions and colour scheme. The new building acts as both a functional and a conceptual bridge between the older complex.
The interior design especially in the reception area is open and welcoming for visitors and clients with a flowing reception desk that required the craftsmanship of a boat builder to complete. The atmosphere is calm and clear with a focus on the actual product and its printing process by clever integration of a window with views through to the production area.
